Determining the Prevalence, Risk Factors and Functional Impact of Vestibular Loss in Individuals with Cystic Fibrosis Throughout

Researchers at Boys Town National Research Hospital are studying the prevalence and impact of vestibular loss in individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF) throughout their lifespan. Our goal is to better understand how CF affects vestibular (inner ear balance), hearing and balance function across the lifespan.

Who can participate?

  • Children (6 months to 18 years)
  • Adults (19 years and older)
  • Individuals with cystic fibrosis

What will participants do?

Participants will complete one study visit lasting approximately one to two hours long. During their visit, participants will complete:

  • Measurements of inner ear balance
  • Walking and balance tests
  • Hearing test
  • Motion tests
  • Vision test

Study Location

Boys Town National Research Hospital
