Leisha Eiten, Au.D., CCC-A, CH-TM, director of specialty clinics at Boys Town National Research Hospital, has been awarded the Fellowship of the Association by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
The Fellowship is one of the highest honors awarded by ASHA. It recognizes individuals who have made significant, outstanding contributions to communication sciences and disorders.
“It is both exciting and deeply humbling to be recognized by my professional peers for work that often occurs behind the scenes on behalf of the professions of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology,” Eiten said.
Fellows are nominated based on achievements in areas such as clinical service, teaching, research and leadership which are significant and regarded beyond the recipient’s community and state.
“Dr. Eiten has contributed immensely to our audiology program at Boys Town and to the profession of audiology. Her dedication through her many years of service to our organization is paralleled by many thousands of hours of commitment to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association,” said Ryan McCreery, Ph.D., Vice President of Research at Boys Town.
“This award recognizes her sustained commitment to supporting audiologists, whether that’s here at Boys Town or across the U.S.”
Eiten shared her gratitude for the opportunities, support and mentorship she’s received throughout her career and under the leadership of Dr. McCreery and the late Pat Stelmachowicz, Ph.D., a leading translational researcher at Boys Town Hospital.
“I am also fortunate to work alongside highly skilled and dedicated clinicians whose expertise and insights help shape my professional efforts and continually connect them back to what matters most: the patients and families Boys Town serves every day,” Eiten said.
